A hike, a bike ride near Tours or a boat trip from Chaumont-sur-Loire are just what you need to dust off the cobwebs after a winter spent in the warmth of your house by the fire. Here are three ideas for activities to get you moving instead of spring cleaning!

A walk around Meung-sur-Loire – Les Mauves

Situated between Orléans and Blois, Meung-sur-Loire is a pretty town in the Loiret region crossed by a number of streams known as Les Mauves. Bordered by many mills, these waterways cross the town and guide you to the entrance of the Parc Départemental du Courtil des Mauves, a haven of greenery dotted with footbridges. Discover this delightful bucolic town on one of two possible routes, 10 km or 15 km.

Château de Villandry et ses jardins

There’s nothing like a bike ride to discover the Loire Valley, its varied landscapes and its châteaux. Beginning in Tours, a lively, cosmopolitan city, you will ride along the south bank of the Cher towards the Château and gardens of Villandry. Take a break in this magnificent setting celebrating both architecture and gardens. Then, following the Loire à Vélo route, you will arrive at Langeais. Cross the fortress-like suspension bridge and, of course, visit the château!

Boat trip around Chaumont-sur-Loire with Moments de Loire

Embark on a traditional boat trip at the foot of the Château of Chaumont-sur-Loire. From the boat, you can see the château in its natural setting, as well as the flora and fauna of the Loire (birds, beavers, etc.). Aurélien will guide you and tell you all about the river and the life of the Loire fishermen: a true art of living. Come and share some special moments with “Moments de Loire”, you won’t regret it!
