Domaine de Poulaines

Presentation

Manor House gardens, with a section dating back to the 15th century, hidden at the heart of a Berry village. Contemporary gardens and arboretum (4.5 hectares) surrounded by 17 hectares of woodland.
About the monument :
Discover the Domaine de Poulaines, close to the Valençay Château and at the heart of a Berry village which has retained its 17th-century covered washing-house; the church dates back to the 12th century. The set of buildings at the Domaine have now been recomposed by the current owner, after being separated during the Revolution. Gardens of 4.5 hectares link between the Manor House (12th, 15th and 19th century) and the Farmstead. Admire the rose garden, water mirror and the route provided. Explore from the Bamboo Garden to the Koi carp, from the spring to the Arboretum with its 400 labelled trees. Garden produce suggested at the shop provides a chance to leave with a souvenir from the Domaine. Possible to organise a savoury or sweet snack for groups, accompanied by Valençay wine.
