THE SOURCE FLOWER PARK: THE FOUR-SEASONS GARDEN

The Source Flower Park is 35-hectare haven of greenery home to a wide range of different gardens. The team of gardeners aim to encourage biodiversity and the growth of flowers for visitors’ enjoyment. They sometimes even limit their intervention to encourage the plant life to flourish independently. Instead of using toxic products, they use plant oils, predatory insects, fragrant plants and other techniques to care for their wards. The results speak for themselves, with astonishing richness and diversity, for example in the contemporary gardens such as the iris field (nicknamed the “blue sea”), the natural gardens such as the meadows where tall grasses tickle your legs and the “showcase” gardens that celebrate flowers: roses, dahlias, fuchsias, etc.

THE SOURCE… OF THE LOIRET!

Walk through the light mist and enter the Source Garden. Here, the mystery unfolds. The plant life is… wet! The bamboo, the giant leaves of the petasites and the sculptures of “the blue lovers” by Wolfhart will lead you to the source of the Loiret, where you can see the resurgence of the Loire bubbling up to the surface after flowing underground for approximately 40km.

THE SOURCE FLOWER PARK, A PERFECT FAMILY OUTING

A walk in the fresh air with a picnic on the grass, a visit to the kitchen garden or orchard to glean a few tips, a quadracycle or train ride for the “lazy ones”, croquet or badminton for the most “energetic”… Families will want to come again and again! Children can even watch the animals being fed in the park.

THE SOURCE FLOWER PARK: A LUSH GARDEN

Step into the heat and humidity to meet the resident exotic butterflies! This greenhouse offers a magical journey through lush vegetation including banana, papaya and ficus trees, as well as hibiscus and orchids. Admire the show as clouds of butterflies whirl around you before gently landing on your shoulder.

A FESTIVAL OF COLOURS

The gardens change colour with every season thanks to an extensive list of plants including tulips, narcissi, hyacinths, irises, camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas, fuchsias, pelargoniums, roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, heathers and chrysanthemums… not to mention the perennials and orchids in the tropical greenhouse.

NOT JUST A GARDEN!

The flamingos of The Source Flower Park are the highlight of any visit! You can admire these magnificent birds near the source, where they will gladly pose for photos! Don’t forget to visit the exotic birds in the tropical area and the farm animals. With the donkeys, a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig called Teddy, miniature goats, free-roaming peacocks and the butterfly house, there is plenty to see!
