The dahlia colour, a sea of colour int he gardens of the château of la Bourdaisière

Behind the kitchen garden, it’s time for a bit of colour! The Dahliacolor is a contemporary garden designed by landscape gardener Louis Benech. This stunning garden is home to nearly 400 varieties of dahlias growing in a vibrant sea of colours. Organised into separate beds, ball and pompon dahlias, collarette and cactus dahlias, giant and dwarf dahlias thrive in a symphony of colours including white, red, yellow, pink, mauve, and even orange in the case of the Château de La Bourdaisière dahlia!

NATURE IN THE GARDENS OF THE CHÂTEAU OF LA BOURDAISIÈRE

Composed of over 100 heirloom varieties of fruit trees including plum (e.g. Mirabelle), cherry, apple and pear, the orchard of La Bourdaisière is designed above all to be educational. It reminds us of the importance of biodiversity and the need to protect it. In addition, each tree here has been adopted by a family who follows its growth and harvest throughout the year and enjoy its fruit!
