Feminine arts

The Château of Azay le Rideau celebrates female artists with two contemporary exhibitions, one dedicated to the works of Anne-Laure Sacriste, the other to the photography of Karen Knorr.

Azay-le-Rideau will be an exceptional stop on the ACT(E)S national contemporary art trail, by displaying the ‘Cosa Mentale’ installations by artist Anne-Laure Sacriste. From 16 May to 27 September, you will discover a surprising take on copper and light within the chapel, as well as an enigmatic textile sculpture in the Renaissance cloakroom. At the same time, from 27 May, the rooms of the château will welcome the animals captured by the fabulous images of British photographer Karen Knorr. With the co-operation of the Hunting and Nature Museum, the ‘The Fables of Azay’ exhibition features foxes, tortoises, hares and storks in a refined setting, a clear and elegant way of bringing together the worlds of nature and culture. Equally worth noting is that the Château of Azay le Rideau offers many activities for families during the school holidays.
