The Grand Gîte de la Crapaudière: A Guesthouse in the Heart of Nature

The Grand Gîte de la Crapaudière is a delightful 4-star guesthouse set in the heart of a forest in the quiet, peaceful region of the Sologne, a half hour from the Royal City of Blois and a mere 10 min. from Francis I’s splendid Renaissance Château de Chambord. The famous Château de Cheverny is close by as well, so there’s plenty to see and do.
The cosy and welcoming guesthouse can accommodate up to 15 people, great for family and friends. And what’s more, it can also house your horses – from 10 to 15 of them - if you decide to bring them along for the ride! You’ll be in the heart of riding country so you can explore the region on horseback – there’s an equestrian centre nearby – on foot, along the many hiking trails, or by bike. The guesthouse, labeled ‘Accueil Vélo’, offers a full set of services for those touring on the ‘Loire à Vélo’s vast network of cycling paths.

The guesthouse owner, Frédérique, speaks perfect English and will show you the way around this exceptional region, known for its ponds, woodlands and extraordinary range of wildlife. Stop off at one of the many charming villages and pick up some of the fabulous local products: goat cheeses, fresh fruit, and the world-famous AOC Touraine and AOC Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny wines. Everything you need for a splendid picnic in the countryside!
