167 km, more than half of which along the river, is the program for this tour. After reaching Argenton/Creuse on the old N20, you'll succumb to the charms of the Venice of Berry, with its gallery houses and ancient mills, as well as its two museums, one devoted to masculine elegance, the other to archaeology. Then the winding road takes you from Ceaulmont to Eguzon, on the shores of the largest lake in the Centre-Val-de-Loire region. There's plenty to do here in season, including the chestnut festival on All Saints Day. One of the most beautiful natural spots in the area is just a 15-minute walk from St-Jallet (St-Plantaire), offering breathtaking, even breathtaking views.
