Itinerary details
Description
152 km north, through Levroux, city of leather and parchment, you can visit the collegiate church and its majestic Gothic nave; less than 10 km away is the Château de Bouges, with its English park, flower garden, saddleries and horse-drawn carriages. The D34 A takes you to Valençay via Veuil. The Château de Valençay (a major Val-de-Loire site) gradually comes into view, fully furnished, a refinement of the Empire so dear to Talleyrand, who entertained the "jet society" of the time here. PDO wines and cheeses are produced here. You then pass through Lye, Villentrois and Luçay-le-Mâle, all marked by the drawings of Benjamin Rabier, advertising executive and illustrator. Return via Ecueillé, Pellevoisin and Argy.
