Domaine La Moussiere – Alphonse Mellot

Presentation

Winegrowers and merchants, the Mellot family is mentioned in the Sancerre archives as early as 1513.
In 1698, King Louis XIV chose César Mellot as his wine advisor.
Like his father and 18 generations of Sancerre winemakers before him bearing the same first name, Alphonse Mellot Junior has established the family domaine at the top of the hierarchy.

Total cultivation, minimal yields, optimal ripeness: his cuvées acquire a rare precision and the expression of each parcel, in white as in red, is impressive.

The quality, consistency and ageing potential of all the domaine’s wines, which we taste regularly, deserve praise.
