Accueil Organise your stay Visits All sites to visit Domaine du Four à Chaux
The Norguet family has been running its Domaine du Four à Chaux for 7 generations, in the heart of the Vendôme region at Thoré-la-Rochette. The Four à Chaux is a protected site dating from 1767, a vestige of the time when tuffeau stone, a soft clay and limestone stone extracted from the hillsides, was used to build the Loire Valley château, the surrounding manor houses and the houses of the Loire Valley region. In a traditional setting, the vineyard has magnificent two hundred year old troglodyte cellars, dedicated to the maturing of local wines, which have become, today, places of conviviality where tastings of red, white, rosé and grey wines are organised. Dominique Norguet, winemaker, cultivates 29 hectares of vines.
