Accueil Organise your stay Visits Museums & interpretation centres Galerie Exposition – Le Pot aux Roses
Le Pot aux Roses is organizing a new exhibition devoted to Grégoire Lemaire, a self-taught ceramist based in Gien. Long fascinated by minerals, he turned to stoneware and the village of La Borne, renowned for its wood-fired kilns. He started out as a self-taught ceramist, admiring other ceramists such as Georges Sybesma, before starting out with an electric kiln while holding down a job on the side. His career took a turn when he was selected to exhibit at Place Saint-Sulpice in Paris. Today, he makes a living from his art.
He creates both large and small white stoneware pieces, fired at low temperatures. His work is distinguished by its diversity: some are very colorful with linear motifs, others more sober but rich in nuance.
