The "Pelouse de Grand Vau" site is a natural area of regional interest with unique characteristics in the Cher department: a limestone and thermophilic lawn dominating a wetland (reed and willow reed beds) along the Herbon stream.
This complex is home to a rich cortege of thermophilic plants (Euphraise de Jaubert, Inule des montagnes….) associated with a remarkable entomological cohort (Agrion de mercure, Dectique verrucivore….). This site is shared between communal and private properties. This natural area constitutes, on the surface, the 5th calcicultural lawn of Berry and one of the most important in the Centre – Loire Valley region.
