Parc des Grandes Fontaines – Pelouses de Bléré

Sensitive natural area, protected by the Conservatoire d'espaces naturels Centre-Val de Loire. The lawns of Bléré are rich in a variety of fauna and flora. Free visit (site presentation panel and leaflet available). Walking tour of 2.3 km.
The particularity of the Grandes Fontaines site is that it combines the presence of dry grasslands, linked to the limestone rock, with more humid environments linked to the Herpenty river
The grasslands, punctuated by junipers, and the wasteland found on the site are evidence of the modification of agricultural practices on these unproductive lands and more particularly of the abandonment of traditional sheep grazing
The lawns of Bléré are: 15 natural environments, more than 130 plant species, 9 species of orchids and 150 species of insects including 122 species of butterflies
