The museum reflects the activity of people in the region since Prehistory. During the visit, you can admire an extraordinary collection of rare and moving works that retrace the rich past of the Saint-Amandois commmunities. Archaeological collections, 19th-century popular traditions and works are housed in this former residence of the Abbots of Noirlac.
Descriptif patrimoine site :
Originally built by monks for the abbots of the abbey of Noirlac, then a nunnery and even a prison, this building includes since 1938 the collection of the Museum of Saint-Amand-Montrond with the popular art and traditions of the Berry.
