About the monument :
Perched above the wild Loire River and offering one of the most stunning views of the Royal River, the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire, now spanning 32 hectares, welcomes over 500,000 visitors each year.
It brings together the Château (15th–19th centuries), its stables, landscaped park, and the International Garden Festival. As a center for art and nature, the Domaine hosts contemporary art installations and exhibitions by renowned photographers throughout the year. The Domaine’s restaurants welcome you with inventive cuisine featuring a selection of local and organic products.
About the garden/park :
Since 1992, the Garden Festival has provided an astonishing panorama of the state of landscape design around the world. Both a mine of ideas and a breeding ground for talent, the Festival reinvigorates the art of gardens by showcasing new blooms, innovative materials and fresh ideas and approaches. The diversity, creativity and quality of the projects have helped to establish the Festival's worldwide reputation, and it has become a not-to-be-missed event for showcasing the work of a new generation of landscape designers, architects, scenographers and gardeners… Alongside the Festival, the Vallon des Brumes, the ‘vegetable garden’, the educational garden and the Goualoup meadows offer the public permanent experimental gardens that change with the seasons.
