Accueil Organise your stay Visits Gardens & parks The Levrys pond
This pond is representative of the Sologne region, because in addition to its water surface and the many species that live there, the site is bordered by heather, oak and birch moorland, which you can discover in a privileged way by taking the discovery trail.
There is an observatory, a footpath, picnic tables and benches all around the pond.
This 28-hectare pond was created long ago by man. It was designed to raise fish, so it is equipped with an emptying system called a bung. In autumn, the pond is emptied to collect the fish in a small depression, the pan. Traditionally, the pond is stocked with herbivores – carp, roach and tench – and carnivores – pike.
