Sensitive Natural Area : "Tourbière des Landes"

In the town of Ménétréol-sur-Sauldre, the Landes peat bog is located in the major bed of the Petite Sauldre, on 10 hectares, between the two communal ponds.
The ecological interest of the site is its mixture of acid peat habitats of humid moors and swampy woodlands. La Tourbière also features mesophilic moors and woodlands typical of Sologne. It hosts an important heritage procession of vascular plants and mosses. The Tourbière des Landes site is a major site for the preservation of acid peat bogs in Sologne and in the Center – Val de Loire region.
