Plan d'eau de Mézières Ecluzelles

Presentation

With a circumference of 5 km, the Mézières-Écluzelles lake is the biggest in Eure-et-Loir. Nowadays, it is a captivating, delicate, natural space, perfect to recharge your batteries in the fresh air and enjoy a family walk. A little corner of paradise that’s not to be missed!
Thirty years after the cessation of material extraction, spontaneous vegetation has settled on the banks of the ballast pits. Its composition is very similar to the natural vegetation of the banks of the Eure: alder, ash, willow and birch are the main tree species. Shrubs and lianas are numerous and herbaceous plants are interesting to discover such as lysimonium, willowherb and mint.
