Accueil Organise your stay Visits Gardens & parks The canal meadow natural area
Between La Claise and its reach – hence the name of the canal – nestles a wetland, rich in various woodlands and wet places (ponds, fish spawning grounds, ditches), home to irises, salt marshes, frogs and other cistuaries. Yesterday, it was a cow meadow, abandoned for almost half a century: hence the woods of ash and poplars cut by a newly restored piece of meadow to the east. So close to the town of Mézières-en-Brenne, this site attracts visitors with its abundant life, its soft shadows and its paths under the trees, close to the water. Here, two panels welcome you, created from scratch by the children of the primary school. Drawings, poems and other texts are the fruit of their observations during the school year 2013 – 2014.
