Accueil Organise your stay Visits All sites to visit Espace naturel sensible des prairies de la Celle
On the commune of La Celle, the Prairies of La Celle extend. Communal property, this Sensitive Natural Area (ENS) of the department of Cher is co-managed by the commune, the National Forestry Office and the Conservatoire d?espaces naturels Centre-Val de Loire. The site shelters a mosaic of limestone natural environments, more or less wet, hosting rare and endangered environments and species. This is the case of the Azuré des mouillères (Phengaris alcon), a butterfly protected nationally and "in critical danger of extinction" on a regional scale, which is not present anywhere else in the Cher department. On the flora side, it is possible to observe beautiful populations of plants protected in the region such as the Gentian pneumonanthe, the Orchis incarnat or the Sanguisorbe officinale.
