The site includes two observatories: the large observatory at Etang Bénisme and the Barineau observatory, recommended for morning viewing. Winter sightings of Wigeon, Green-winged Teal and Great Egret; April, August and September sightings of Osprey; May sightings of Whiskered Tern; June sightings of Shoveler, Common Merganser and Little Gravelot; April to July sightings of Black Kite, etc. Various species of heron (night heron, black-crowned night heron, purple heron, little egret, common crake, etc.) can easily be observed in flight during the spring.
