Bénisme lake and Foucault lake hides (Terres et étangs de Brenne Massé-Foucault Reserve))
Two observatories accessible to the public and from which you can observe many species of birds all year round… from the common teal to the little ringed plover without forgetting the whiskered tern or the osprey.
The site includes two observatories: the large observatory at Etang Bénisme and the Barineau observatory, recommended for morning viewing. Winter sightings of Wigeon, Green-winged Teal and Great Egret; April, August and September sightings of Osprey; May sightings of Whiskered Tern; June sightings of Shoveler, Common Merganser and Little Gravelot; April to July sightings of Black Kite, etc. Various species of heron (night heron, black-crowned night heron, purple heron, little egret, common crake, etc.) can easily be observed in flight during the spring.
