With the aim of long-term preservation, this 86-hectare site has been managed by the Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels Centre-Val de Loire since 2004 through a 15-year agreement with the Bonny-sur-Loire town council for 30 hectares and through a temporary occupation permit granted by the Direction Départementale des Territoires for 56 hectares of public river land.
