Description

The trail begins at the Maison du Parc in the centre of Le Bouchet hamlet. The architectural quality of the hamlet's buildings, overlooked by Château du Bouchet, and the Park's information and discovery centre that can be found here make this is a symbolic site of La Brenne Regional Nature Park. The site is also distinctive in that it lies on a chain of buttons, red sandstone hillocks that have withstood the test of time. This ferruginous sandstone has also been used as building material in the hamlet. Get ready to pedal a little harder for the last bit of the trail, after riding past the Mer Rouge, La Brenne's largest pond, and spotting Château du Bouchet which stands 133 metres above sea level!
