Description
With its 35 000 hectares, the forest of Orleans is the largest state forest on mainland France. This circuit offers a good overview of its riches. From the Etang de la Vallée, you will join the Caillettes Belevedere which offers a panoramic view on the forest. As the highest point of the Orléans forest, the Caillettes belvedere offers a striking view of the surrounding nature. 24-meters high, it is an ideal site for flora and birds observation, including migratory birds which frequent the thirty neighboring ponds. In addition to an orientation table, its platform has explanatory panels about the age and growth of trees, about plants and the forest animals. Course of 13.9km.
