Here, gourmets are proud to say that "a Valençay is best enjoyed with a Valençay". They are referring to the joint presence on the same territory of two AOC/AOP: goat's cheese in the shape of a truncated pyramid, and red, rosé and white wines.

Description
Between Berry and Touraine, the vineyard dominates the Cher and its tributaries over almost 1,500 hectares. The wines reflect the diversity of the appellation?s grape varieties. Valençay also boasts a sumptuous château combining Renaissance and classical architecture, a gift from Napoleon to Talleyrand, an automobile museum, and on the other side of the Gâtines forest, Villentrois and its château, Lye, its Romanesque church and vineyard lodge, and astonishing troglodyte caves dug into the tufa rock.
