Description
Positioned between the Loire Valley and Champagne Berrichonne, this loop encourages you to explore Sancerguois. Medieval relics coincide with the rural heritage that occupies the area's many landscapes, comprising marshes, forests and open fields. This scenery has inspired some famous locals: Roger Martin du Gard, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, the historian Pauline Lapautre, the ethologist Maurice Delafosse and the patois-speaking poet Hubert Gouvernel. Finally, you can ride along Albert Bourlon's training and racing track. This cyclist from Sancerguois became famous in 1947 for winning the Tour de France after a 253km solo breakaway! To this day, this record has not been broken.
