At each of his exhibitions, Samuel Rozenbaum shares a few fragments from his mental jukebox, guiding us through stories that combine photos to listen to, memories to scratch and songs to see. For Les Bains-Douches, he revisits his first trip to Japan, when confronted with another culture.
Samuel Rozenbaum says it over and over again: his real parents, the ones who taught him everything about life, are songs and films.
Through the unfamiliar streets of Osaka, Hiroshima or Kanazawa, a lost Samuel faces a wave of loneliness. Alain Souchon, with his melancholy lyrics, comes to his rescue like a harmonic lifeguard.
