ChâteaurouxIn Châteauroux, in the heart of summer, the DARC festival – dance, animation, rhythm, culture – is unique in France. It brings together more than 650 dancers from all over the world to take part in this course, as well as concerts every evening that bring the whole town to life, thanks to the up-to-date and eclectic programme offered at these concerts.
International dance-chant-comedy workshop

The DARC Festival offers a wide range of dance disciplines, taught by over thirty internationally renowned teachers. Modern jazz, classical dance, capoeira, Argentine tango, hip-hop, salsa, tap, singing, contemporary dance… there’s no language barrier, we all understand each other, dance is a universal language.

Fame !
Thirteen days of training in a professional facility, equipped with parquet floors and dance mats and set in 3 hectares of parkland on the banks of the Indre river. It’s a non-stop, original and intensive experience, with renowned teachers who have come to share their love of dance, singing and acting. Four levels (introductory, beginner, intermediate and advanced) for real preparation for the stage, a final show with all the trainees… there’s a whiff of glory in Châteauroux this summer!
Music in the city
At the same time, the town centre will be hosting a different concert every evening. The castelroussins are invited to come and enjoy the presence of singers from all horizons and to party.

Countless artists have come to set Châteauroux alight in August in previous years. The list is so long that it’s hard to choose just a few names! There are well-known singers, with their own identifiable musical style, such as Alain Chamfort, Boy George and Florent Pagny…., and others who are less well known: Marcel et son orchestre, les Fatals Picards, la Belle Germaine….
To get your own idea of the musical diversity on show at the DARC Festival every year, check out the list of names here!
To make sure the party is complete, and for over 20 years now, the Indre department has also been taking part in the Festival in its own way, organising free shows in eight different towns in the department. These concerts allow everyone, regardless of where they live, to join in the festivities of the Stage-Festival de Châteauroux – DARC.
Châteauroux, the nature lover’s city

A natural and romantic city, Châteauroux is an art of living in itself. The parks and gardens, the Indre and its ponds, the national forest… all open the doors to this unspoilt destination. And don’t forget the unsuspected treasures and beauty of this thriving medieval city as you stroll through the narrow cobbled streets of the historic centre. Châteauroux is the countryside in the city!
If you still need convincing, you should know that the whole town is pulling together to make it easier for you to attend the DARC Festival. Individual or group accommodation, transport… all the services are on deck and ready to welcome you in a festive and friendly atmosphere. So don’t hesitate, and get dancing!
