At the crossroads between Touraine, Blois and Sologne, Pontlevoy has preserved many vestiges of its history. The 25 information panels that make up the "Street Museum" present daily life at the beginning of the 20th century. Other temporary exhibitions proposed in the village.
About the monument :
We propose you a 2 to 3 hour long walk, to discover a rich natural and architectural heritage, with 25 panels of the « Museum in street » which show the dailylife in Pontlevoy at the beggining of the 20th century, thanks to a part of the collection Clergeau, photographer from Pontlevoy. Several outdoors exhibitions brighten you visit up : « Sport and culture in Pontlevoy at the beggining of the 20th century » – reproductions of Ferdinand Desnos, a painter born in Pontlevoy – reproductions of Poulain chromos.
You can also visit the geological and palaeonthological site of the Falun quarry and the Pontlevoy stone quarry. The site of the dolmen “la Pierre de Minuit” is the subject of a walking tour.
