Saint Martin's Church

12th-century frescos.
Description
Its frescoes from the 12th century were discovered under several layers of whitewash by the Abbé Perigaud in 1849. George Sand intervened by getting the appropriate government ministry involved, and after a report by Prosper Mérimée (writer and friend of George Sand), the church was very quickly made a listed historical monument.
