About the monument :
The 'espace mémoire du patrimoine de l'équipement', on Ferdinand de Lesseps' old farm had a display of tools, materials, instruments and vehicles belonging to the Highways Department, and then to the Ministry of Infrastructure. There are nearly 2,000m² presenting numerous and various trades that used to be practised, as well as materials for topography, drawing, signage, construction equipment and winter maintenance, some of which are unique to France (snowblowers, snow ploughs), including laboratory control and analysis equipment, and an exhibition on Ferdinand de Lesseps. In 2013, a temporary exhibition called "MEMOIRES DE CANTONNIERS" (Road mender memories) will present the life, purpose, job and tools of these men.
