About the monument :
designed to make Don Quixote cower with its solid stone base which it has been standing on for 500 years. With a span of 18 metres, a total of 40 tons rotate on a pivot, known as the Bourdon. Driven by the monks of the priory, Etienne Bourgevin, a merchant and labourer, ordered the construction of the windmill in 1477. In 500 years, it has never stopped turning.
