Located in Illiers-Combray near Chartres, around a hundred metres from the “House of Aunt Léonie”, is Château of La Sinterrerie, where a young Marcel Proust’s sensibilities were born. This magnificent, secret estate inspired the writer’s first novel, who made it the house of Charles Swann.

The meeting point of a myth, a work of art and a place, the Château de Swann offers an original experience for artists and the general public; a stroll between fiction and reality, a walk through time. The art historian and musicologist Jean Yves Patte designed Swann's Castle. Each room, each object, each detail tells a story and invites you to discover the characters of Le Côté de Chez Swann, their sensibility, their time. The time machine exists. It is located in the park of Swann's castle. This park has retained the magic that inspired Marcel Proust as a young boy. We all have lost time within us to rediscover during a dreamlike and surprising walk.
