The small town of Montoire-sur-le-Loir entered into history for being the setting for a meeting between Pétain and Hitler on the 24 of October 1940. The historic train station tells the story of this meeting.
Description
The town of Montoire-sur-le-Loir entered in history because it made notorious to have been the theater of the handshakes between Philippe Pétain and Hitler in October 24th, 1940. Since 2003, a museographic space was realized in the historic station to explain the origins and the consequences of this interview. You can discover back-lit panels with texts, photos, archive films of this period and model (in the 1/87th) reconstituting the whole site and the day of October 24th, 1940.
