About the monument :
This 1000 years-old fortress has a 33-meter keep, within an enclosure about 500 metres long. The fortress shelters a Neolithic polisher which was found next to the fortress. Also to be discovered in Mondoubleau: the Governor's House with its wooden panelling (1460), the twisted bridge and all the buildings built in Roussard stone (iron-rich sandstone traditionally used in building in the region). Self visit.
