Forteresse médiévale et village de Yèvre-le-Châtel

They said it was impregnable! At which point the English and Burgundians deserted hordes of soldiers during the Hundred Year War! Come and discover this medieval fortress, which stands proudly on a rocky spur in one of "the most beautiful villages in France".
Description
The recently restored fortress of Yèvre-le-Châtel is one of the major tourist sites of Loiret, located at the heart of the "Route du Blé". Built under the command of Philippe Auguste in the early 13th century, the fortress soars up, lofty and grand, behind the bridge-head, with 10-metre wide moats and 3-metre thick ramparts… Down below, enjoy a stroll around the narrow streets planted with flowers to discover the lower courtyard and beautiful stone houses, the château and Saint-Lubin church admired by Victor Hugo. A charming tour, made even more beautiful in summer when the surrounding countryside is ablaze with a multitude of colours.
