Accueil Eglise Saint-Saturnin
Church which belonged to Déols Abbey. Some carved elements may date back to the 11th century, like the capitals inside the building with human figures whose style and manufacture evoke the famous capitals of the Saint-Aignan crypt in Orléans.
Description
The facade, on two levels typical of the 12th century, has a semi-circular portal supported by small columns and an upper arch mounted on columns with a sloping roof of billets. This facade has obviously been severed from its southern part. It seems that the church had to suffer the consequences of the sieges from the neighbouring château and underwent restorations in the 15th and 16th centuries.
