The priory of Giroux was founded in 1214 by the Benedictine abbey of Notre-Dame d'Issoudun
The building, built of rubble stone, is covered with small flat tiles and dominated on the west by a modest bell. It consists of a single nave extended by a choir with a flat chevet on which opens a sacristy.

Description
The most interesting element is the western façade with an elegant portal dating from the end of the 15th century: its double basket-handle opening is surmounted by a bare tympanum, typical of many churches in Berry, underlined by a semicircular arch, set under an embrace topped by a finial. The creepers of the gables of the nave are decorated at their base with sculptures of piglets in the west and animals that are not easily identifiable in the east. The building is supported to the north and south by ashlar buttresses, whose glacis is drip-dampened. Inside, the nave, covered with a plaster vault on lathes, was surmounted by a framework, as evidenced by the presence of entrails and punches; to the west, the bell chamber is accessed by a ladder.
