Church of Saint-Anne

Built in the 12th and 13th centuries, this church owes part of its fame to its proximity to the House of George Sand. Its picturesque character, however, gives it a very special interest.
Description
Built in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, this church owes its fame in part to the proximity of George Sand’s house. However, its picturesque style which is completed by a ‘guenillère’ (a porch where beggars used to sit), means it is interesting in its own right. It also houses carved stone capitals and some traces of frescoes. Nearby : Montgivray : church of Saint Saturnin, twelfth, thirteenth, and fifteenth centuries, capitals, nineteenth century paintings, porch.
