Château of la Guerche

15th-century Château on the banks of the Creuse, set amidst beautiful grounds. Visit the guard house, a reception room and the vaulted basements which served as grain stores, artillery stores and as the Lord's prison. The visit begins with a tour of the château's exterior, whose architecture is a fine example of this period of transition from fortified castles for defence to sumptuous châteaux as country homes.
