Accueil Organise your stay Visits Gardens & parks Château de Villeprévost
About the monument :
In the middle of a park designed by one of Le Nôtre's students, the château de Villeprévost, situated in the village of Tillay-le-Peneux, 5km from Orgères-en-Beauce, is the perfect example of an 18th century Beauce mansion house. The chateau has belonged to the same family for two centuries and has not been changed at all. In the large living room of the chateau, Amand-François Fougeron, advisor to the King and, at the time, justice of the peace in Orgères-en-Beauce, questioned over 300 criminals from the group known as the "chauffeurs d'Orgères", infamous for having devastated Beauce in the aftermath of the Revolution. Small French-style park, divided into two sections on the same level, made to look bigger with its pathway and trompe l'oeil which takes effect on 15th August at sunset.
