Accueil Château de Courtalain
Situated on a headland, this chateau brings together medieval and Renaissance architecture, and its 19th century neo-medieval extensions, in a beautiful landscaped park (200 hectares).
Description
Courtalain was a fortress in the Hundred Years War. It is a late 15th-century castle with two high buildings forming an L shape and a corner tower. Its singularity resides in the additions made in the 19th century by the Montmorency family which had a brick tower of Neo-Medieval inspiration built, and had the edifice decorated with fine sculptures in Renaissance style.
