The village of Céré grew up around the church. A place of pilgrimage, the church has a distinctive sloping floor: the floor was washed with copious amounts of water when pilgrims spent the night there. This building, dedicated to Saint-Martin, is a fine example of Renaissance enlargement and decoration.
