A musical and choreographic event, Franceconcert presents Carmina Burana, one of the most famous masterpieces of the 20th century. Based on a collection of lyric poems, Carmina Burana was composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936.
Presented for the 1st time in 1937 at the Frankfurt Opera, this masterly piece has always fascinated the general public. The most famous movement, "O Fortuna", repeated at the end of the work, is now world-famous.
Performed with passion and power by choirs and soloists, these secular and Latin songs tell a story of life, death, destiny and, above all, love. Nearly 100 artists sing of the joy of spring?s return and the pleasures of alcohol, play with the wheel of fate, dance of love and lust. This new production takes up this musical phenomenon with sensuality and emotion, showing that music, gesture and speech are inseparable.
