Open to all free of charge, the Archives départementales de l'Indre is a place of knowledge that welcomes researchers, genealogists and citizens wishing to prove their rights.
To do this, the Archives team collects, classifies and preserves the documents on which history is written. Visitors are invited to take a look behind the scenes, to discover how documents enter the Archives, and to learn more about the archivist?s job. The tour takes in the 16km of linear boxes in the stores and bays, and ends with a presentation of some of the treasures kept there.
Not recommended for children under 12.
