Exposition Jean Zuber "Signes, cosmogonie détournée"

Le Wednesday 08 May à 10h00
Rue de l'hospice Saint-Roch BP 150 36100 ISSOUDUN
The Musée de l?Hospice Saint-Roch presents a major exhibition of selected works by the Franco-Swiss painter Jean Zuber.
Born in 1943 in Bienne (Switzerland), Jean Zuber died in 2019 in Grez-sur-Loing (Seine-et-Marne). An avid traveler, he was a regular visitor to the Cher region of central France, where he had his studio in Le Noyer. His pure, abstract painting, composed of geometric motifs, ideograms, signs and symbols, whose depth is achieved by superimposing layers of color and scraping the surface, echoes the Oceanic collection of the Sacré-Coeur missionaries in Issoudun, as well as Cécile Reims and Fred Deux?s collection of non-European arts (Hopi, Dogon).
The exhibition is presented in the four rooms of the main nave and the graphic arts cabinet. All the works are from private collections.
