Tourist wine cellars and Loire Valley wines

As you holiday in the third largest wine-growing region in France, be sure to make the most of all the Loire Valley winemakers have to offer. They will happily share their passion for wine with you in the very cellars they make their wines in, and will show you round their vineyard and let you taste their produce: an unforgettable experience! When you meet them you will understand true meaning of the word terroir!

Tasting Loire Valley wines in the Caves touristiques®

No less than 350 winemaking estates in the Loire Valley are listed as "Caves touristiques du vignoble de Loire®" ('Tourist wine cellars in the Loire region') along the Loire Valley wine route. They all offer a high-quality welcome, regular opening hours, a free commented tasting in a dedicated space, and the sale of wine by the bottle. Some are particularly unusual, such as the troglodyte cellars of Saumur or the Monmousseau cellars with its illuminated tunnels.

Visitors are offered a convivial, friendly welcome and an experience shared with truly passionate winemakers. There is nothing like meeting the people who actually work in the vines and the cellars to gain a sense of the original features of an estate, appellation or wine.

Red, white, rosé: there are as many wines as winemakers!

You can find all the Caves touristiques on the map called "Sur la route des vins du Val de Loire" ('Along the Loire Valley wine route'), available in the tourist offices and Maisons des Vins of the Loire Valley.
