Translayon and Festivini, summer events in the Anjou-Saumur vineyards

The largest wine-growing district in the Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur offers plenty of opportunities to party in the summer months. Here are two examples of local festivities:

Translayon, in June, is a great event for those who love to get out an about on foot, mountain bike, canoe or horseback. Starting at the source of the Layon river, join the Loire and discover all the beauty of the Layon Valley, which is so famous for its wines. On Sunday there's a great party to celebrate the end of the trip!

Another celebration of the Anjou-Saumur region is Festivini, a festival of culture and wine held in Saumur and the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud in September. It has plenty of events to offer including semi-nocturnal walks, wine tasting, dinner at the Abbey which is lit up for the occasion, a torchlight descent of the Saumur vineyards and classic car outings.
