From château to château

Is it possible to talk about the Loire Valley without evoking its famous Châteaux?

Inherently linked, their close relationship can be seen on the banks of the Loire and its tributaries, in the middle of the region's forests, at the heart of emblematic towns or on the outskirts of traditional villages... Symbols of the French Renaissance, 22 of them are part of the "Grands Sites du Val de Loire" (Major sites of the Val de Loire) network, including the châteaux of Chenonceau, Chambord, Amboise, Nantes and the Abbey of Fontevraud. But these are not the only ones worth visiting.

Some are still lived in today and allow visitors to imagine what life used to be like, while others offer accommodation for one or more nights, which is the concept of the "Bienvenue au Château" (Welcome to the château) organisation and the châteaux-hotels.
