MAISON NATALE DU PERE DANIEL BROTTIER

LA FERTE-SAINT-CYR - 41

Father Brottier's birthplace. Daniel Brottier was born on 7 September 1876, in La Ferté-St-Cyr. His parents gave him a Christian upbringing and at a very young age he wanted to become a priest. A few months after his first communion, in October 1887, he went to the little seminary in Blois. His work is associated with L'oeuvre des Orphelins Apprentis d'Auteuil (Works of the Apprentice Orphans of Auteuil - Paris) which now has 4,000 young people in 32 homes: education, professional and moral training. He was a member of the Spiritan order, declared Blessed by Pope John Paul II in Rome in 1984; a born educator and a saint. Free guided visit only.
